Delivery Preparation & Site Placement Checklist
A step-by-step checklist to prepare your California jobsite, event venue, or residential property for a smooth portable restroom delivery.
Preparing Your California Site for Restroom Delivery
Proper delivery preparation ensures your portable sanitation equipment arrives safely, sits securely throughout your project, and can be easily accessed by service pump trucks.
1. Vehicle Clearance & Turning Radius
Delivery trucks and pump-out service vehicles are large, heavy commercial vehicles. Confirm the following site specs before delivery day:
- Vertical Clearance: Ensure an overhead clearance of at least 12 to 14 feet, clear of low-hanging tree branches, power lines, and awnings.
- Gate & Driveway Width: Minimum width of 10 to 12 feet for standard trucks, wider for trailers.
- Ground Surface: Delivery vehicles can easily weigh 10,000 to 25,000+ lbs. Avoid driving over soft turf, sandy soil, or unpaved dirt that could sink after rainfall.
2. Placement Location Guidelines
- Distance from Truck Parking: Standard service hoses measure 25 to 40 feet. Units must be placed within this distance of where the service truck can legally and safely park.
- Level Ground: Always place units on flat, level ground (concrete, asphalt, compacted gravel). Never place portable restrooms on steep inclines where they risk tipping.
- Wind & Weather Protection: In high-wind areas like the Coachella Valley, Antelope Valley, or coastal bluffs, place units alongside a windbreak, fence, or building wall.
- Lighting & Accessibility: If the event runs after dusk, place units near venue lighting or string auxiliary lighting to maintain guest safety.
3. Utility Requirements for Restroom Trailers
If you have rented a luxury restroom trailer for a wedding or corporate gala, verify utility hookups before the delivery driver arrives:
- Electrical Power: Most 2-to-4 station trailers require 1 to 2 dedicated 110V/20-amp circuits. Standard household outlets sharing a circuit with catering warmers will trip the breaker. A dedicated 30A RV connection or quiet generator is recommended.
- Water Supply: A standard outdoor garden hose connection delivering 40 to 60 PSI continuous water pressure is required for onboard sinks and flushing systems. If running water is unavailable, request an onboard freshwater tank package from the supplier.
